Creativeness can happen in so many ways online. We have different platforms where we can share an idea or thought. From Twitter to Instagram to youtube and now TikTok. All of which have become hubs for new content. Millions of people use these applications daily and with that comes a lot of data as well. Everyone has their own digital footprint on these platforms simply based on the type of content they create. There are two sides to these platforms, content creators, and content consumers, both of which have an impact on each other.
Back in high school, I used to have a YouTube channel. This was also the time when I began to have a bigger presence on social media, primarily on Instagram and Twitter. Most people normally just consume other people's content and therefore share their content rather than create unique content. I like having a balance of both as they're both two ways to express yourself online. The primary reason why I started a youtube channel was that I noticed how big the platform was getting and there was an opportunity to grow with it. My channel didn't focus on anything specific but rather more on personal vlogs that I would film in my bedroom. I had to get creative in terms of coming up with a topic video. I also had to learn how to film and then edit my videos to post online. After a few months, I was up to 300 subscribers but as time went on it became difficult to be consistent. Which is why I eventually stopped making videos. I also realized that it wasn't something I was truly passionate about. I don't see myself becoming an online celebrity. I'd rather be on the other side of things and managing these organizations or probably start my own company one day. I like having my personal private life without all the attention. To note, I currently just use youtube as a content consumer. Posting and creating content for this platform requires a lot of work and time, which I don't want to dedicate. I mainly watch a lot of graphic information videos.
Here's a snippet of one of my videos with my best friend from HS and no, we are no longer best friends:
